Content: This paper introduces the term “film-induced tourism” as a growing phenomenon. It investigates film tourism and describes forms and characteristics of film-induced tourism, as well as any previous research that has been carried out on this, by giving data on the impact of film on visitor number. The authors look at increased visitors to specific destinations due to films even though the destinations were not promoted by marketing agencies. The paper also describes the benefits of film tourism, its challenges and practices in depth.
