EuroScreen continues with the exchange and transfer of good practice in screen tourism. On this occasion, EuroScreen’s partner organisation from Bucharest hosted a 1-day transfer of good practice workshop on 29 May 2014.

Experienced EuroScreen partners from London and Ystad provided case studies on how to successfully work with screen tourism on a regional level. While Ystad Municipality combines a film strategy and a positive relationship with the local business community to create tourism opportunities, Film London presented small scale film tourism projects by showcasing how to produce film tourism maps in print and online.

Discussions were led by EuroScreen consultant Juliane Schulze from Peaceful Fish, providing members of staff at the Bucharest – Ilfov Regional Development Agency with opportunities to apply good practice examples in their region.

Bucharest is home to film studios that attract national as well as international productions with a global audience reach. Film Tourism provides an excellent opportunity to attract tourists to Bucharest and the surrounding region that are showcased on the big screen. Bucharest is often referred to as Little Paris!
