The EuroScreen partnership organises this exciting 2-day Transfer of Good Practice Workshop to exchange good practice on screen tourism. The workshops are hosted by our Maltese partner.

The key aim of these sessions will be knowledge exchange and the transfer of good practice from more experienced to less experienced partners, as well as developing the knowledge and skills of policy makers.

Themes include:

  • How to effectively attract audio-visual production (Film London)
  • Best practice presentation- Accessing ERDF/ESF/other European funds for stimulating and attracting the international productions (tbc)
  • Screen tourism products (Ystad Municipality)
  • How to measure the economic effect of film production shot in the region?  (Joint presentation, Municipality of  Ystad: media analysis, Film London: tbc, Apulia: tbc)
  • Panel discussion: Copyrights and intellectual property involved in dealing with materials from films used for screen tourism purposes (Film London, Ystad)
  • Interactive sessions on marketing Malta as a film location for international productions, showing Malta as Malta and re-vitalizing the Popeye village/other locations as a screen tourism destination.


This Transfer of Good Practice Workshop is part of the capacity-building programme and are targeted at the relevant staff members in each partner organisation. This workshop is the 2nd 2-day workshop (after Maribor/Slovenia) with the specific aim of ‘transfer of good practice’ by London, Apulia and Ystad, to Maribor, Bucharest and La Valleta – groups to consist of 15 members of staff.
